UP-Tuks captain Paballo Mamabolo was delighted after his side secured their place in the Varsity Football semi-finals, praising the team’s fighting spirit and the support from the home crowd.

Tuks produced a disciplined performance to beat log leaders UJ in round 7 and book their place in the last four, with Mamabolo highlighting the importance of competing and giving everything on the pitch. They will face UJ again in the semi-final on Friday 25 September at 7.15pm, but this time it will be on enemy territory in Soweto.

"You know, objective number one, complete. I'm just over the moon, the boys really came here, they fought, they gave everything. The fans came in numbers, we can't do this without the fans, especially at Tuks Stadium."

"They know the slaughterhouse, it's difficult for teams to come here and get a result. But I'm proud of the boys, objective one is completed, now we want to go all the way and lift the trophy."

With their semi-final place secured, Mamabolo and his teammates will now turn their attention to the next challenge as they chase Varsity Football glory.
