Plaatjies draws on 2024 glory as UWC chase Varsity Football success

UWC defender Zamian Plaatjies is drawing on his experience of winning the Varsity Football title in 2024 as he continues his journey with the university side.

Having already tasted success on the student football stage, Plaatjies understands what it takes to compete at the highest level while also recognising the opportunities the tournament provides to emerging talent.

"It's an amazing experience being part of the UWC Varsity Football team, it's always a good place to show your talent and to give some opportunities for the boys and to explain that they are able to come here."

The defender believes hard work, unity and a strong defensive approach will be key as UWC look to make their mark in the competition.

"I think we just want to keep on coming out and showing up, working hard, not conceding, working as a unit and trying to believe and fight until the end."

With a championship medal already in his collection, Plaatjies will be hoping his experience can help inspire UWC towards another successful Varsity Football campaign.
