Defending champs UFS desperate for a win after three straight losses

UFS star Ben Kraai believes the Kovsies are ready for a crucial fourth-round Varsity Football clash against UL, with both sides desperate to end a difficult run of form.

The two teams head into the encounter having suffered three consecutive defeats, setting the stage for a fiercely contested battle as they look to turn their campaigns around.

"I think it's going to be a very competitive game because we and the University of Limpopo, I think we are in the same situation, losing three games in a row,” said Kraai.

“I think the boys are motivated enough. I think we know what we're going to do there."

Kraai believes discipline and sticking to their tactical approach will be key if UFS are to return to winning ways.

"Displaying good football doesn't mean that you're going to win the game,” he said.

“Sticking to the game plan, that's the big thing that's going to help us towards this game. And we saw against Wits last week as well that there were long periods where it looked like you guys had the upper hand in the game."

With both sides searching for a much-needed victory, Kraai knows there will be little room for error.
