- SHOWUS 2025 It's Bigger Than Football
NEXT PREVIOUS CSI 01 Aug 2025 SHOWUS 2025: This Season, It’s Bigger Than Football Every season, Varsity Football gives student-athletes a platform to show their skill, heart, and determination — and every year, our #ShowUs campaign has celebrated that energy. But this year, we're turning the spotlight to where it's needed most. After speaking to team managers and hearing the honest truth about what’s happening on campuses across the country, one thing stood out above all: students are going hungry. Food insecurity is something thousands of students face every single day, and for many, it’s a quiet struggle. Between lectures, training, matches, and exams, some don’t know where their next meal will come from. And once we heard that, we knew #ShowUs had to evolve. This year, we’re using the campaign to draw attention to campus feeding schemes, the people and organisations already working hard to make sure students have the basic support they need to keep going. It's a small shift in focus, but one we hope will have a lasting impact. And here’s how we’re starting:For every game played this season, the Player of the Match will win R1,000 which will be donated to a campus feeding initiative. That means R1,000 every game going toward putting food on the table for students who need it most. It’s a simple idea that turns excellence on the field into hope off the field. We know football can’t solve everything. But it can shine a light, raise awareness, and bring people together around the things that matter. That’s what #ShowUs is about in 2025. Yes, we want the goals, the passion, and the school pride. But we also want to make sure we’re showing up for the very people who keep this tournament alive, the students. The future. So this season, don’t just show us your skills. Show us your heart. Show us what community looks like. ShowUs what matters.
