Mxolisi Mthiya eyeing home final for Wits [VIDEO]

Wits forward Mxolisi Mthiya is delighted to have helped his side secure a place in the Varsity Football semi-finals, but the team has bigger ambitions as they approach the final stages of the competition.

After missing out at the group-stage hurdle last season, Wits have responded strongly this year and currently sit second on the log with 13 points from six matches.

"I'm really happy to have qualified for the semi-finals, especially having fallen out in the group stages last season," he said.

"The aim now is to bring the cup here at home; we don't want just the home semi-final."

Wits face DUT at Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday in their final league fixture, with the Johannesburg side looking to finish top of the standings and potentially secure home advantage for the final.

"Going into the last match against DUT, we want to steal the number one spot and possibly clinch the home final."
